Umrah is a sacred act of worship that allows Muslims to strengthen their connection with Allah while visiting the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah. 1. Entering the State of Ihram

2. Performing Tawaf

After arriving at Masjid al-Haram, pilgrims begin Tawaf, which involves walking around the Holy Kaaba seven times in a counterclockwise direction. Pilgrims start near the Black Stone, raise their hands, and say “Allahu Akbar.” During Tawaf, believers offer prayers and remembrance of Allah while completing the seven rounds. It is also recommended for men to show the right shoulder and walk slightly faster during the first three rounds.

3. Sa’i Between Safa and Marwa

The next ritual is Sa’i, which involves walking between the hills of Safa and Marwa seven times. Pilgrims begin at Safa and walk toward Marwa. Men are encouraged to jog lightly between the two green markers. Completing seven rounds between these two points commemorates the perseverance of Hazrat Hajar (RA).

4. Shaving or Trimming the Hair

The final step of Umrah is cutting or shaving the hair. Men may shave the head completely or trim it, while women cut a small portion from the ends of their hair. This marks the completion of Umrah and the end of the state of Ihram.
